with Emmy Award-winning stop motion animator Teresa Drilling
Join award-winning stop motion animator/director Teresa Drilling for a 90 minute presentation on the history and principles of stop motion animation.
Teresa Drilling is an Emmy Award winning stop motion animator / director who works in features, television, commercials and short films. Trained as a graphic designer and painter, Teresa's animation curiosity blossomed into a career that splits her time between coasts and continents. She's contributed to animation books, been quoted in print from the London Times to Time Magazine, and her work has been displayed in the Smithsonian. She was nominated for an Annie Award for her Tumble Leaf series work and animated on Chicken Run, Elf, Curse of the Wererabbit, Coraline, and Anomalisa. Personally invested in a culture of learning, she crafted curriculum and taught stop motion for Portland State University, Pacific Northwest College of Art, and the Art Institute of Portland, as well as presented workshops at institutions like Cal Arts and The Walt Disney Family Museum. Teresa has called Portland home for nearly 30 years, where she teaches stop motion studies and celebrates the rain.
